15th December
Yesterday was the final formal Vets Golf day for the year. This is not to say we wont be playing any more golf. If there are sufficient numbers out there at or prior to midday on the coming Tuesdays, Barry, Gordon or Terry will be only too happy to arrange fours etc. So let's keep it going. Yesterday's results; Sam Baker 42 points, David Benefield and Keith McKenzie 41, Dougall Campbell, John Hainsworth both 39 and Santokh Bhullar 38. Golf was followed by a very pleasant afternoon tea and drinks.
Congratulations all those involved with the organising of Tuesday Vets Golf; particularly the inegmatic and unflappable Barry Maxwell, backgroung organiser Gordon Gillespie and of course our moneyman Terry Kay. Well done guys!
Cheers
Bart

18th November
4th Nov we held the Ladies Shootout kindly sponsored by Balance Chartered Accountants. An exciting day in which 19 ladies, who have had the top rounds during the year, tee off on the 1st then diminish by one on each following hole. Plenty of interest in the outcome so quite a gallery followed. Pauline Mills who, by all accounts played consistently well, was the deserved winner at the end of a long day. The runner up was Ngaire Hall, 3rd Sylvia Baker and 4th Sally Sherson.
9th Nov Closing Day & Prizegiving - how quickly this year has gone. This was a fun day & the haggle was foursomes. Evelyn Heale & Helen Svensson did very well with 67.5, followed by Barbara Taylor & Judy Hastie 69, Judy Fox & Ann Percy had 71 as did Eleanor West & Julie Owen. 9 hole team winners were Shirley Barton, Rhonda Donald & Dulcie Ferris. Lyn Bacon dressed up the golf club inside & out with delightful Christmas decorations which were pretty unique and had us all oohing & aahing. Wednesday golf will continue over summer for anyone who's interested, starting time will be around 8.30am.
