Course Tour

Welcome to our Course Tour of the Tarrangower Golf Course

The Gap is elevated tee to green with bunkers right and left rear. The ‘donger’ in front may stop the ball rolling to the green.

The fairway drops away towards the green at the Ridge while a bunker short and right will bring the ball up short.

The Trap is a dog leg right with a bunker short of the green hungry for balls, while danger lurks to the right on approach to the green. It’s the hole ‘lefties’ love to hate.

The Drop is a great little hole, nicely elevated from tee to green and guarded by water in front.

The Valley rises gently uphill with a forgiving fairway leading to a large two tiered green.

A blind short from the white tee at Ngauruhoe should run straight up and over the hill’s crest. Misjudgment can lead to trouble on the left, while a ‘donger’ to the right and a deeper one further along to the left can catch the unwary. Additionally, danger lurks at the back of the green.

The Lookout is straight forward if the ball is long and true. A bounce off the hill to the left could send the ball out of bounds. The green is flanked by a steep lipped two-piece bunker running the length of the green on the right.

Check out the view of our magnificent mountain from the tee called Ruapehu. Ngauruhoe’s cone can also be seen to the left. Beware the obvious out of bounds on the right, it can be a magnet.

At Hikurangi, a slight dog-leg right over water allows for a direct approach if you’re keen. The raised green is fringed by conifers.

A grove of large Totara trees jutting into the fairway lend this hole its name. The dog-leg bend leads to a green which slopes from back to front.

Beware of out of bounds on the right at Tuhua. A sleepy hollow in the same direction will catch errant tee shots.

Araroa is another opportunity to let rip although beware of the out of bounds running the full length of the hole. The fairway leads to a large green sloping from back to front.

Deceptively tricky, the Oval has trees left and right which can snatch a ball in flight while the green is guarded by a bunker at left.

The tee on Tarrangower is surrounded by tall trees opening to a wide fairway. An open drain on the right runs the length of the hole while a bunker to the left of the green is ready to snatch the ball on approach.
